Owning a word in people's minds is a pretty good idea too...

I must say not only Obama's team did great job with a clear message but also - Obama used social technologies in very clever way - for PEOPLE to control the discussion. It wasn't about him - it was about people and the message they would communicate. If you look this against radio market, there are currently no stations in UK (at least London) market that deploys either of Obama's methods in their digital strategy...which in my opinion is a default practice these days. But unfortunately some programmers still live like it was 1992 :(
